So there I am, sitting in the middle of a large cafeteria full of coworkers, reading the first short story. I'm doing everything I can not to squeal and squirm while reading it and only being partly successful. The descriptiveness of the author's writing is second to none. The second short story had me speaking out loud trying to coach the unwitting girl in the story. It's truly like watching a scary movie, wanting to shield your eyes from what you know is coming. As for the third story, I always, always enjoy Dan's take on the vampire genre. There is something so genuine about it. Make sure to include this in your reading selections without delay!Product details

Great short stories. I wish he would of made them into full length novels.
All three tales are very different and should appeal to all horror fans. You've got creatures, slashers, and supernatural monsters. All of the stories had moments of supreme dread and suspense.
Two great stories. I'm awfully glad that I'm not scared of spiders, otherwise the first story would have scared the crap out of me! As it was, it's still an unsettling tale. The second story was good and I'm now looking forward to reading Mr. Padavonas latest vampire novel. I love the scary vamps! Yep, I'd recommend this book and author.
Loved all three short stories....Spiders ( which I am deathly scared of ), serial killer, and of course a Vampire....Thanks Mr.Padavon for a scary read
Actually this is two short stories. The first about giant aberrant spiders on an isolated islet and the second a vampire tale. For me the island was the best of the two. The vampire tale had potential but sort of left you hanging at the end. Still Dan Padavona is a major new force in the horror story genre.
I first heard of Dan from his father's legacy... but I've been reading and enjoying horror since I was 12. It is not easy to scare me, and I like to think I've seen or read it all. The Island is a WONDERFULLY written short story. In just a short story, I felt immersed in the setting, I felt the dread, I was creeped out, and by the end, I was pretty scared. ) All in all, I loved it. In fact, I was so creeped out, I wanted a hug afterwards. Spiders are SCARY! Well done, Dan, I'm a huge fan and will keep reading!
